The Westwego Police Department family is deeply saddened by the event that transpired on Friday morning January 20, 2017 which resulted in the death of one of our own, Police Officer Michael D. Louviere.

Chief of Police Dwayne J. Munch delivers a heart-felt eulogy.

Citizen Police Academy

The City of Westwego Police department is offering a Citizen's Police Academy course.

Our Citizens Academy is a program designed to provide our citizens with information on various functions of the Westwego Police Department and the criminal justice system. This Academy DOES NOT teach citizens how to become Police Officers.
